Crazy, Fun, Weekend

This past weekend was crazy busy but really fun. I was reading Katrina's blog the other day and she had posted that she had never had sushi before. Well we had to take care of that! So Friday we had sushi and hot and sour soup at my house with her husband, Mike, Kellen, my brother, Joe, and his friend Val. It was really fun.

Then on Saturday we had tickets to the symphony! Katrina and I were excited all week! We went shoe shopping in the afternoon and came home in just enough time to race to the symphony with our boys. We were almost late and ended up running to Abravanel Hall from the Marriott parking garage. Running fast in heels wasn't working out so well for me so mid way I decided to ditch the shoes and run barefoot (gross, I know) but we barely made it on time so it was worth it.

The symphony was great (thank goodness for student discounts!). The second half was Beethoven, which I love, and afterwards we decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory. Kellen and I had never been there before but it was really good.

On Sunday we had my Mom's birthday party at our house. (Happy Birthday Momma!) It was great! Dave and Lori were in town from Arizona and Amie and Bryce made it back from their vacation in time to come so we were all there together and amazingly we managed to make a table big enough for 20 people in our little house. I was searching for inexpensive centerpieces to dress up that huge table and make it special for the party when I saw these tiny potted daffodils at Macey's grocery store. I repotted them in glass vases I had from a wedding I did and lined them along the center of the table. It turned out pretty cute. Mom really liked her party so I was glad. Whew!
